 176: 175 Greyson, who had been looking straight ahead, glanced at him. Dane fixed his eyes on Greyson and spoke again. "That night, coming to the hospital room. It was you, wasn't it? What the hell did you do?" Even while asking directly, he inwardly became troubled thinking, what if this bastard says it wasn't him? Actually, there wasn't a single piece of evidence. His eyes were covered with bandages and an eye patch so he couldn't even see dim light, and there was no pheromone scent either. There was no evidence anywhere that the owner of those footsteps was this guy. If he were to deny it… Then, Greyson made a snorting sound and laughed. "How did you know?" Fortunately, he obediently confessed. Perhaps he judged that honestly admitting it was better. Anyway, though Dane should have felt good about the result going as intended, unfortunately he didn't. Rather, he looked at Greyson with a frown and an incredulous expression. What the hell is with this bastard? He absolutely couldn't understand. He visited every day when he was unconscious, but when he actually opened his eyes, he hid away, appeared suddenly when his eyes couldn't see, then disappeared again. And after not showing his face at all, he suddenly appears on the day of discharge. On top of that, kidnapping his cat. "What are you thinking while living?" At Dane's question, Greyson just laughed out loud. At that reaction, Dane intuitively sensed that he wouldn't give a proper answer. Just as he had sensed without any evidence that the person who visited the hospital room that night was this man. "Why did you come? That night." Though he couldn't see with his eyes, he could roughly estimate the time from the medical staff's movements. Moreover, that day the medical staff had even said "good night" to Dane. When Greyson visited, it was before the medical staff came to announce morning. So roughly the time was between midnight and 3 or 4 AM. Since it was a time when he couldn't understand why he would visit, Dane's questions weren't easily resolved. The curious points didn't end there. "If you came, you could have at least acknowledged me, why did you just leave?" He threw another question, but Greyson still had no reaction. He just smiled, lifting the corners of his lips. Seeing that, anger surged, and Dane exploded. "Are you really not going to talk? Why did you come, at that time? What business did you have with me!" When he shouted in a rough voice, Greyson, who had been looking straight ahead until then, answered. "To kill you." "What?" At the sudden words, Dane's eyes went wide. Instantly, tense silence descended. Dane, who had been looking only at Greyson's profile in confusion, opened his mouth. "…You're lying, right?" "Yeah." This bastard. At the one word that came back so nonchalantly, Dane felt blood vessels bulging at his temples. If this bastard wasn't holding the steering wheel, he would have hit his head without hesitation. Remembering belatedly that this car had autonomous driving, he clenched his fist but soon released it. Instead, Dane let out a sigh and muttered in a lifeless voice. "Take it easy, you." To Dane, who only said that much and leaned back in his seat, Greyson only made a short laughing sound. And the car drove quietly and finally arrived at the mansion. * * * The mansion he visited after a long time was much more tranquil than he remembered. Enough to be bewildered, wondering if it had been such a quiet place. Greyson, who got out of the car first, hurriedly came around the hood to help Dane get out, but Dane opened the car door first and stood up with his crutch. "Where's Darling?" At Dane's question as he stood straight, Greyson stood awkwardly then withdrew his embarrassed hand and smiled. "In your room. A familiar place is better." His words were true. It was the right judgment, but Dane's legs were the problem. Just as he let out a pained groan at the thought of climbing numerous stairs, Greyson suddenly lifted him up. "Wh-what?" At the sudden situation, Dane was surprised and unconsciously shouted. But Greyson didn't care and carried Dane while striding up the stairs, quickly reaching the floor with the bedroom. "There, we're here." Greyson, who kindly said this and put him down, smiled again. Dane, who staggered and put his feet on the ground, unconsciously looked down over the railing. To climb those distant stairs while carrying Dane, and so quickly at that, without even showing signs of being out of breath. What monstrous strength. Dane thought with renewed admiration. This must also be thanks to his phenotype. "This is really enviable, you." He said without any ulterior motive and patted Greyson's arm. Since he had come up the stairs so comfortably, complaining would be impossible. Except for one thing – that he had come up like a Disney princess in Greyson's arms. Ignoring the rather unpleasant fact, Dane turned around and headed to the room where he had stayed. Greyson silently followed behind him. "Darling!" Opening the door to the room and first discovering the cat lying leisurely on top of the cat tower, Dane called her name loudly and hurriedly moved. Though he had become quite accustomed to using the crutch, that didn't mean he could move as freely as he was satisfied with. Limping as he hurriedly approached, he first brought the back of his hand to the cat's nose tip so Darling wouldn't be startled. The cat, who had been sniffing, suddenly raised her head. Dane slowly, carefully wrapped his palm around the cat's entire head and stroked her forehead with his thumb. "Meow." Darling made a sound and got up. At the sight of the cat twitching her nose as if looking for him, Dane carefully picked up Darling. When he held her in his arms, the cat cried frantically, rubbing her head against his chest and rolling over, not knowing what to do. "Sorry, Darling. For making you wait." Dane sincerely apologized and kissed Darling's head. Even during this, the cat continued to move around in Dane's arms, unable to hide her excitement. Dane, who had been watching Darling like this with warm eyes for a while, suddenly turned his head and discovered Greyson. Like before, he was standing not far from the door, watching them. Dane cleared his throat and opened his mouth. "Thanks, for taking care of Darling." "I didn't really do much." Greyson casually accepted the thanks. Belatedly, Dane asked him a question. "But… why is Darling here? Why did you bother to bring her? Yeonwoo was extremely flustered." This was what he had been curious about all along. When he frowned and looked, Greyson slowly moved his lips. "Well…" He shrugged his shoulders and then added nonchalantly. "A cat would prefer a familiar place too, so I brought her." Frequently changing environments isn't better. Dane thought, but he didn't want to nitpick about an action Greyson had done with consideration. Most importantly, since he had unilaterally received help, finding fault with every little thing and complaining wouldn't be a good attitude. Anyway, this side had done it with good intentions, and just saying once to leave her at Yeonwoo's house next time would be enough. Because of that, he expressed gratitude once more instead. "Yeah, thanks. Darling looks happy too thanks to you." At Dane's sincere words, Greyson smiled. "Then that's fortunate." After the conversation ended, an awkward silence suddenly arrived. To have such silence in front of Greyson who always chattered endlessly, Dane suddenly became flustered. Searching his mind for something to say, he awkwardly opened his mouth. "Um, then I'll be going…" After roughly greeting, he put Darling in the carrier. It had a luxury brand logo, so it was obviously an incredibly expensive item, but it didn't matter. He probably left it for me to use anyway. Dane thought this and came out of the room carrying the carrier with Darling inside. "Dane." Just as he was about to walk toward the stairs, Greyson suddenly called him to stop. Instead of asking what was wrong, when he turned around, Greyson pointed behind himself with his thumb. "There's an elevator." "…Hah." Dane was so incredulous his jaw dropped. When he limped and followed behind Greyson, the elevator door appeared not far away. While Greyson pressed the button and waited for the machine to come up, Dane asked with a frowning face. "Does it only work for going down?" "No, of course it works for going up too." Leaving this here and bothering to carry me up… Thinking of the embarrassing position, his face naturally contorted. Was this bastard's hobby creating unnecessary hardship? Rich people really can't be understood.}
